Let Your Freak Flag Fly: My Love of Kpop

Hello again, friends.

One of the most unique things  about me is my love of Kpop. That is Korean pop music. People tend to think immediately of Gangnam Style, but it is much more than that. It is music with intricate dances and cool clothes and just amazingness. I bring this up because sometimes I get embarrassed when people bring it up to me. They genuinely seem surprised it's a thing and that I like it.

It is not the only type of music I listen to. I listen to American Pop, country, and rap. I also love British music. I am quite eclectic.

I post this because I shouldn't be ashamed of my music choices. I shouldn't be scared for people to hear my in the car playlist. Neither should anyone else reading this. So what if you're different? Be a hipster! Be a weirdo! I leave you with my favorite kpop gifs.

Girls Generation-Gee

Sistar- Ma Boy

Super Junior- Sorry Sorry

And those are just some dances that are notable at the top of my head. Everyone would say someone different. I also want to leave a song in case anyone is interested, so I will leave one of my favorites.

This is the song Some and it is pretty great.

PS. Girls Generation is my favorite.

Saving money, The struggle of Growing Up

Hello again all!

I have been so busy with real life stuff I haven't thought about blogging. That's a lie, I did but on Spring break, my last spring break ever, I relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful warm weather.

Now that I am back to reality, I have discovered growing up cost money. LOTS of money. This is unfortunate as I DO have a job, but it is part time and my expenses are greater than my income.I've been struggling to find the funds to cover all the things I need/want to do this year. Including my honeymoon. It's tough but I 'll get through it. I always do.

My post today is about staying sane when times are tough and money isn't there. I've always been thrifty and always needed to save so this has become a normal part of my life over the years.

1. Treat Yourself
I am NOT saying go out and buy yourself something new. I am saying if you have had a bad day or something, go to McDonalds and buy yourself a 2$ chocolate dipped cone.

2. Stay AWAY From Your Favorite Store
I love shopping just as much as the next girl but sometimes it IS hard to resist sale prices. While something may be 75% off, the 15$ you still are spending could have been saved. That is still 15$ spent.

3. Enjoy Things You Already Have
I always forget that I have so many things I can enjoy already. This could mean my camera, movies, or even video games. Pick up something you haven't used or seen in a while when you are bored.

4. Sell/Donate Your Old Things
If you really need money, cleaning out your closet and home can be a good way to find some old items to sale. For clothes, you can sell them to Platos closet or other stores who buy gently worn items. You may not get a lot of money, but it IS more than you made having those shoes sit in your closet for months unworn. Yard sales are a good option as well. What can't be sold, donate because it is nice to declutter as well.

inspiring words of the week

The final bit is I know it sucks. You have bills, things you want to do, and you need new clothes for something. It is what it is and if you can't change it, that is okay. It won't be this way forever just get by for now. That's how I feel. I'll have worked hard in the end for all the things I am going to have and struggling right now is a part of the journey.

Mascara and Bronzers for newbies

Hello again!

It has been WAY too long. I have been super busy with life, and honestly I haven't had anything worth saying to post. My post today is a little different as it will include part of my make up collection. I know, I am so original.

First things first my collection is tiny. Like, picture a beauty bloggers. Now picture what she carries in her purse. That is my entire collection. As I am just now really learning make up, I thought my reviews would be helpful for fellow newbies.

This is my entire collection of mascara and bronzers. Top to bottom: Too Faced Better than Sex mascara, Benefit they're real, Clump Crusher extensions last blast. Bronzers: Hard Candy Tropic 13 and Too Faced Chocolate soleil medium/dark.

Out of the 3 mascaras, I would say Benefit's they're Real is the easiest to use. It doesn't add amazing volume but it makes them look fuller and overall great for an everyday look. However, the full size is pricey (23$) so I bought the mini for 10 dollars because I'm cheap.

The Better than Sex mascara is super hyped and well known. I did purchase it because of those reasons. It is expensive (23$) so once again I went with the mini. I actually really like it. It makes my eyes stand out and adds volume and just a wow factor. The only way Too Faced was able to do this though was to make the stickiest mascara of man kind. Seriously, I first wore this out on my trip to IKEA, had to look my best of course, and while I was driving my eyelashes STUCK TOGETHER. Like top to bottom. I tried not to panic but I was going 75 down the highway. I'm pretty sure it wasn't my application either. Other than that I like it a lot.

The Clump Crusher is pretty meh for me. I have used it multiple times but I have yet to be impressed. Just darkens my lashes to be honest. My sister loves it, but she uses an eyelash curler and I do not. I think it just holds the curl really well after using a curler+clump crusher combo. It however, is the cheapest for $7.99 full size.
Here are the wands, Better than sex, benefit, then clump crusher

Between the bronzers, I really enjoy the Too Faced Chocolate soleil most. The hard candy one is such an intense bronzer it has to be used VERY carefully or I will accidentally apply too much. This is useful in the summer when I have a tan, but in the winter months I can look dirty and orange if I am not careful. The too faced bronzer goes on much more sheer and can easily be built on until I get the look I want for contouring and otherwise. It also smells like chocolate which helps just a bit. Price wise, the Hard candy is MUCH more affordable at 9$ compared to 30$ for the full sized Too faced. I got the mini bronzer with the mini better than sex mascara for 15$ at sephora. To try the products, I think that is reasonable.

Left is Hard candy, right is too faced.

I hope this post was interesting, if it did suck PLEASE let me know!
